About the book:

The Power of Suffering is psychologist David Roland’s personal investigation into the journey of eleven incredible people from crisis through to acceptance and triumph. Maurice Gleeson’s story of rediscovering his love of life after vision loss and grief is profiled in the book.

About David Roland:

Dr David Roland is the author of How I Rescued My Brain: a psychologist’s remarkable recovery from stroke and trauma. He worked as a clinical and forensic psychologist for more than twenty years before focussing on writing and speaking. He has a PhD in clinical psychology and is an honorary associate with the University Centre for Rural Health at the University of Sydney. David is a founding member of Compassionate Mind Australia.

Maurice Gleeson is the CEO and President of Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria. He is a keen and long-term advocate for people with vision loss.
